When you teach a man to hate.

Standard

when you teach a man to hate

When you teach a man to hate.

When you teach a man to hate, that hatred will consume,

The light once held inside, will expire way too soon.

And all that will be left standing, will be bitter sour fruit,

Will be an empty-hearted conman, a devil in a pinstriped suit.

When you teach a man to hate, you slowly kill the good,

You slowly kill the kindness — darkness consumes his soul, begins to flood.

And all that remains is but a poor reflection, a heart that’s grown stone cold,

A shadow of what could have been, a soul that has been sold.

When you teach a man to hate, that hatred will run riot,

And love and peace and grace, will be left out of his diet.

And all you will see before you, is a lust for position, for power,

Is a mindless wreaking ball, a filthy beast in ivory tower.

When you teach a man to hate, great darkness fills his eyes,

He thinks that everyone’s beneath him, and he deals in pain ‘n’ fear ‘n’ lies.

And all the love that’s lay within him, day by day begins to rot,

Day by day begins to ebb away, until hatred consumes the lot.

When you teach a man to hate, his own brother he would kill,

His own mother he would sell, in order to bend life to his will.

And this great world that we all live in, to him will never be enough,

It will always leave him wanting, because hatred called his bluff.

When Truth Becomes Legend.

Standard

when truth becomes legend

When Truth Becomes Legend.

When truth becomes legend

And legend becomes myth,

And myth become tale

And tale becomes ‘what if’.

The magic and mystery

Of life becomes bland,

And we start to forget

What we hold in our hand.

We start to forget

That there once was a way,

And a light in the darkness

That shone brighter than the brightest of day.

And hoping and dreaming

Becomes but a rhyme,

That was once in our heart

In our soul in our mind.

But now it’s a stranger

That we might have once met,

But we soon get distracted

And thus we forget.

That truth is the truth

Not legend or myth,

Not a tale you can tell

Not a passing what if.

The truth is a teacher

As old as all time,

A gift sent to guide us

From one who’s divine.

And if it stays lost

Remains unknown, a story

Then we will miss out

On mankind’s lasting glory.

And all that remains

Will be whispers at night,

And a few tiny embers

Of what once was The Light.

Uncontainable.

Standard

uncontainable

Uncontainable.

If joy sets the beat of your heart,

And trust is your guide on the way,

And hope is the friend at your side,

And courage awakens you, each new day.

If passion is the road that you travel,

And purpose the star giving light,

And belief the child of innovation,

And perseverance the finish in sight.

If truth champions you on to victory,

And wisdom adds fuel to the fire,

And understanding is the coat you wear,

And empathy lifts your spirit higher.

If compassion motivates your call,

And peace becomes your aim,

If you love as you are deeply loved,

Your life will never be the same, nor will it be contained.

Taken from ‘Words & Pictures’ written & produced by Tracey Odessa Kane 2015 ©

‘Words & Pictures’ is a collection of thoughts and photographs, which aim to capture completely all the little things in life, those moments that take our breath away.

Like my previous collections; ‘Words & Pictures the A, B, C’s of Life’ and Life Made Simple, which is taken from my book ‘Simple Truth’. It is a collection of simple thoughts and images, written and produced specifically to help you daily, as you write your very own story, as you pursue what makes you happy. It is written to encourage you along the way. To enable you to ponder all of life’s what’s, if’s and maybe’s, and to help you to discover that which truly lies within. To inspire you to ask and to seek the answers to that age old question, ‘why am I here?’ To help you to discern and to embrace your purpose, your call. To enable you find the courage to knock upon life’s great imposing door, to help you to come a little closer, to finding the key that unlocks everything this beautiful life has to offer.

It is about learning to be mindful, to be fully present every day, to learn something from each and every situation, good and bad, every soul, for better for worse,  on this your life’s journey. And it is my great honour and privilege to be able to share a little of it with you here. I pray you enjoy and are blessed.

In Deo Speramus.
