Bumps in the Night.
“Simon what exactly are you trying to say?”
“It’s 2am I think you know what I’m saying. I’ve been saying the same thing for the past half hour now Jess.”
Suddenly everything Jess had been hoping for, everything she wanted was in one cruel and unexpected blow, taken from her. She couldn’t quite take it in.
Simon rubbed her back and laid his right hand gently on Jess’s blooming tummy, he could feel Alfie moving about.
“I’m so sorry Jess.”
Tears began to well in Jess’s eyes, “I can’t believe it Simon I thought it was a 24 hour MacDonald’s.”
